the Vietnam conflictWhat occurred?
The Vietnam War was fought between communist North Vietnam and the government of Southern Vietnam. The North was supported by communist countries such as the People's Republic of China and the Soviet Union. The South was supported by anti-communist countries, primarily the United States. Who was involved? northern Vietnam, southern Vietnam, china, soviet union , and the united states. Why did it happen? THE US BECAME INVOLVED IN THE WAR BECAUSE THEY WERE SCARED OF COMMUNISM SPREADING. Where did it take place? Vietnam. When did it take place? started on November 1, 1955 and ended on April 30, 1975. What events led up to this? Was there anything that may have prevented or precipitated this event? world war ii but also when we, the u.s, threw our support behind the French in their war to maintain their colonial empire because the u.s was blinded by the fear of communism. Would a different leader have handled it differently? How? in the u.s.a, no because when j.f.k became president he really didn't do much, Lyndon Johnson did most of the choice, ALL RIDICULOUS BECUASE THEY WERE SCARED OF COMMUNISM, THE VIETNAMESE WAS NOT FIGHTING FOR COMMUSISM BUT FOR VIETNAM. How did the US react to this event? How did other countries react to this event? they were obviously scared of communism spreading. What was the result of this event? the north conquered he south and made one communist Vietnam. How did life for the "average" American change as a result of this event? they no longer trusted their government because of all the lies they had been told during this conflict. |
